Played Home on 5th October 2024Long Sutton Ladies 1st XI took to the pitch this week with all to play for. As usual the forwards Baker (H) and Perowne and Midfields Hastings (P), Norey, Jones and Frost worked tirelessly. They were able to convert one of their chances early on with a shot fired by Baker(H) from the top of the D into the bottom left corner. Still Sutton worked tirelessly with the fresh legs of Hastings (M) joining the line up to keep the pressure on they soon increased their lead Via Norey and then Baker(L). At 3-0 up they did not give up, keeping control of the pitch Sutton had strong possession and through a free hit from just outside the 25 from Baker(L) passed to Norey, Norey slotted home her 2nd goal taking the tally to 4. Soon they won a short corner where Jones on her 3rd attempt slotted away her goal. Sutton startee the 2nd half 5-0 up. Suttons defense Parr, White and Hales provided support when and where needed, pushing the midfielders up Sutton was soon awarded a short corner which was fired home by Baker(H) into the bottom right corner. Pelicans had a spell of possession which Sutton handled well. Wallis keeping out the shots from them with calmness. On Parrs return to the pitch after a quick drink had a run through the centre supporting the midfield and worked with Norey, Jones, Frost and Perowne to work the ball up then pitch finding Baker(H) who took an acute reverse strike from the left side base line and gaining her 3rd goal of the game.
