Sutton started this Prem B fixture at a leisurely pace on Saturday after the long drive to London. Sutton struggled to find any rhythm allowing Waltham time on the ball to counter attack. Sutton did find some form and created some good chances but couldn't convert. However, Sutton then produced a lovely flowing move for Sisson to slot home and break the deadlock. This could have sparked Sutton into life but unfortunately it didn't. Waltham surged forward and equalised and then went ahead. 2-1 half time. Skipper Harrison ignited the team in the half time team talk and they took to the pitch again. It was a different side to the first half. Sutton piled on the pressure, leading from the front as Sutton harassed the Waltham defence giving them no let up. Sutton passed the ball with pace, precision opening up Waltham time after time. Sutton were rewarded for their dominance with an own goal as the Waltham keeper swept the ball into his own net. Sutton's desire and exceptional togetherness were shining through as they worked harder and harder as a team to try and find the winner. It came when the ball fell to Ben Shore who smashed it into the bottom corner. A proud Harrison couldn't have asked for any more from his players. Sutton came off the pitch exhausted knowing they gave everything for each other and deserved the win with a fantastic second half team performance.
