Sutton traveled to the league leaders on Sunday. Sutton started the brighter and at a high tempo. Moving the ball well and creating numerous chances. Sutton opened the scoring with a well worked goal down the right, a fine ball from Ellis found Hales who smashed home. Sutton should of doubled their lead soon after, a Fyson dragflick expertly saved from the outstanding Ramgarhia keeper. Ramgarhia upped their game and showed why they are league leaders but their efforts were thwarted by a very organised Sutton defence. Sutton again created chances with excellent work from Allen and Ellis down the flanks but again the Ramgarhia keeper kept the score at just one. Sutton's defence was finally broken after a short corner shot from the home team deceived everyone as it looped up and bobbled into the goal. Ramgarhia then got lucky and added a second and went into half time 2-1 up but didn't deserve their lead. The second half saw Ramgharia more determined but again they struggled to break the Sutton defences. Sutton played some lovely hockey and created some excellent chances but just couldn't find that clinical finishing they desperately needed. As Sutton tired Ramgarhia's style of long ball hockey created some good chances of their own. Sutton's keeper, Cliff, kept them in the game with an excellent display. He pulled off a fantastic flick save only to have it retaken as he was judged to have moved before the flick had been taken. Ramgarhia added a third from the retake however Cliff saved another flick to keep Sutton's hopes alive. Sutton had numerous short corners but couldn't breach the goal line and the game finished 3-1. Sutton deserved at least a point from this game and proved they shouldn't be in a relegation battle with some of the hockey they displayed. A great team effort with many man of the match performance but Cliff was outstanding.
