Letchworth started the brighter on Saturday pining Sutton back in their half. Sutton were slow and lacked urgency but managed to defend well, and finally woke up and looked dangerous with their first attack. Sutton broke the deadlock with a trademark Fyson drag flick from a penalty corner and a minute later Sutton were on the attack again with a lovely flowing move to Sisson who twisted and turned and found Cook who finished beautifully in the side of the goal. 2-0 HT.

The second half saw Letchworth press but Sutton stuck together as a unit and thwarted their attacks. Sutton kept composed and continued to play some lovely hockey opening up Letchworth. With another well worked move, Sisson latched onto to the ball and raced forward. Cook supported well but Sisson fired in an absolute stunning reverse stick shot which rattled every part of the Letchworth goal. Letchworth to their credit kept coming at Sutton and got on the score sheet as a penalty corner strike took a wicked deflection off Fyson and into the goal. Sutton responded again with another superb move and as Fyson found Ellis in the D he was fouled and although he slotted the ball home the umpire had already blown and given a penalty flick. Harrison stepped up and slammed the ball into the corner of the goal leaving the keeper no chance. Letchworth then grabbed their second of the game with a lovely first time reverse stick strike but it was little consolation as Sisson added his second and Sutton's fifth to completely squash any Letchworth hopes. A fantastic TEAM effort from Sutton played with a fantastic, positive attitude proved too much for fourth in the league.
