Suttons 2nd XI travelled away to Peterborough to play their 5th XI. With squad shortages, Ed White and Sam Gray stepped into the breach and did an excellent job, but with key players missing and players playing out of position it was always going to be an uphill battle. By half time, the score line was still 0-0, Peterborough having the better of the chances but with Suttons back four being solid again this week making the home team work.

The second half started much like the first, with both teams pushing for the victory but still being wary of break-away chances. Peterborough applied the pressure for a large period, and Sutton soaked it up well, until they worked a good team goal in. Then, a quarter of an hour before the final whistle, Sutton gifted to Peterborough by poor midfield work, resulting in the centre mid being unmarked to drill a powerful strike past Cliff. Sutton appeared to wake up after this, and applied the pressure greatly causing Peterborough to go on the back foot. But even after a hard final push, Sutton couldn't turn things round resulting in a disappointing 2-0 loss, and a lot of work to be done in preparation for next weeks game.
