In what was a well contested Div. 3N game between two well organised teams, a strong Cambridge side were eventually the victors.

Cambridge started the game better, but in the absence of the injured skipper Matt Holmes, MOTM Ross Gavaghan organised the well drilled Sutton defence to assist the excellent again James Cliff in goal to keep them at bay. As the half went on Sutton grew into the game and the scraps the forwards were initially fed became morsels and for spells even square meals, however they were unable to finish these. Half time the scores were level with the Sutton midfield duo of Fox and Watt more than matching their counterparts.

The second half was a very even affair, with chances for either team going begging until Cambridge scored two goals in quick succession, whilst Sutton were reorganising to cover for the temporarily absent injured Fox. Whilst Sutton fought back, it was Cambridge's turn to marshal their defence well and the game finished 2-0.

A good team performance, particularly from the defence with Gavaghan, Fox, Watt, Wiles and Gray deserving of mentions in dispatches along with the consistent Cliff.
