LSHC Mens' Second v Cambridge South 1sts
Played Away on 1st March 2014
Sutton travelled away to Cambs South 1st this weekend, unfortunately this was to be an uncharacteristic, lacklustre performance, from arrival at the pitch to the final whistle Suttons heads were never in the game. Although in the opening 10 mins of the match Sutton dominated play, a couple of quick goals from South in the second 10 opened up a gap; in the past has fired up the squad to go back and take the points but today it had the opposite effect and Sutton started to come apart, this combined with 2 players playing injured and 2 recovering from illness resulted in a 3-0 deficit at the break.
Sutton came out a little better in the second half with motm Esse frustrating South and the defense thwarting the well drilled opposition to keep goals against to 2 in the 2nd half, 5-0 to South at full time.
Lesson learnt from this that when we don't turn up mentally on the day or don't play as a team in this league we will get punished.
