Sutton reached the last 16 of the National Mens Seconds Plate with an emphatic win over Lincoln Roses.

Taking the game to Roses from the start, Sutton were soon in the lead from a fantastic Josh Fyson finish, Adam Wiles added a second, his third of the weekend, Ben Shore a third and Nick Bailey a 4th with a trademark deflected goal just before half time. The 4-0 scoreline at halftime did not flatter Sutton, with defenders Simon Clarke, Michael Donaghy and keeper James Cliff helping ensure any threat of a Roses comeback was snuffed out.

The second half continued as the first, with the midfield trio of Watt, Fyson and MOTM Charles Hardy totally controlling the game with some high quality hockey. Hardy in particular making a fantastic statement of intent in his first weekend of Green Army Hockey!

The goals continued to flow with both Bailey and Fyson completing their hat-tricks and the hard working Roses team scoring a consolation goal late in the game.

A good result which puts them in the hat with 15 teams from all over the country, with the next round played in the New Year. An excellent team performance with special mention to Stand-in Captain Stef Fox, who organised his team and the fixtures well over the weekend.
