Both sides deserved something from a well fought, good quality game between two sides who should be in the mix at the end of the season.

Leadenham with their 15 man 'olympic rotation' squad started strongly and despite some admirable defensive work took an early lead; historically Sutton have found it difficult to come back from a deficit on the 'exposed' Cranwell pitch but with some strong work from James Slator, Ben Maris and Michael Donaghy they began to more than hold their own and it was no surprise when Lovegrove christened the new boots with a goal from a White short corner pass.

The second half was well fought with chances at either end, Sutton's Captain Albert Slator particularily inspired in goal athletically saving his team on many occasions. Neither side gave up to the end and indeed Sutton could have stolen all of the points when Canham shot from the top of the 'D' and hit the inside of the post only to see the ball roll along the goalline not over it!

All in all a very encouraging team performance to take into a run of local derbies. Man of the Match, Albert Slator.
