An  eleven man Sutton squad faced their first 5NW league match of the season with Samuel Gray and Edmund White returning from their second team adventure with fire in their veins.

Sutton's pass and move tactics give them the best of the first half with Luke Lovegrove, Jamie Slator and Sam Gray combining well to threaten the Peterborough goal. Outstanding work  by a casual Peterborough keeper and skilled sweeper saved many well worked goal attempts until John Sullivan smashed the ball home before half time.

In the second half great defensive work by Dan Fisher, Nick Worth and Dave Maris thwarted the Veterans, and good passing by midfielders Ed White and Harry Thorpe set up many penetrating  moves, finishing in a goal by Man of the Match Jack Smith.  Sutton failed to score from several short corners and will need to take these chances in  future games.

As both sides tired  at the very  end of the game Peterborough's' experience showed resulted in an easy tap for a consolation goal. However, overall it was a great performance full of potential for future fixtures.
