After a big win against Spalding the previous week Sutton travelled to play Wisbech 4ths with optimism and  high expectations.

Sutton got off to their normal sluggish start and were kept penned into their own half for the first fifteen minutes. Gradually they began to pass and play with David Maris in midfield on inspirational form against his original club. Lovegrove slammed in a timely goal just before half time to give Sutton the lead.

Wisbech made positional changes in the second half that reinvigorated  their attack and, despite good marking from the Sutton defence, scored two goals  from short corners early in the second half.

Sutton pushed forward  in attack but even when their defence was breached the Wisbech keeper was in no mood to be beaten, making a string of impressive saves.  Wisbech took full advantage  of Suttons commitment forward to score two more breakout goals.

Jack Smith put the ball in the net as consolation, but the home team deserved the points in this  enjoyable local derby. Final Score  4-2.
