Sutton took a surprise lead in this entertaining game, when man of the match Ed White robbed a defender and stroked his shot past the onrushing keeper. They could have extended the lead as well, with great work from Jack Smith in rounding the keeper but unfortunately failing to put away the finish. The home side pressed and scored on a breakaway, adding a second just before the interval.

Sutton equalised in the second period with a sweet passing move, from White to Jeremy Smith, who swept it wide to Adam Sisson. His cross was met by a reverse stick shot from Jack Smith. Sutton did not want to settle for the draw, but their attacking intent cost them when a Horncastle forward slipped in behind the defence and beat Josh Thody from ten metres. Kieran Forrest and Harry Thorpe both had good games and Joss Calderbank was a reassuring figure at the back. Thanks go to Sam Gray for his very late call up.
