Moulton Pool

Wisbech 2nd team 0 - Spalding 1st team 3

In the last week of the League round of the Moulton Pool, Spalding produced some of their best hockey to win this game. Taking the game to the Wisbech side it was deserved when Pete Wright scored to make the score 1-0 at half time. The Spalding Ladies worked well with their male counterparts and continued to make chances to stretch the lead, at the other end excellent defending and good keeping from the Spalding keeper ensured the Wisbech team remained scoreless. The well drilled Spalding performance was rewarded with two more goals including a second from Pete Wright and the final score of 3-0 was testament to both the attacking play of Spalding and the goalkeeping of the Spalding keeper.

Petes Pressies 0 - The Ninjas 6

This interclub fixture was played out competitively and started very evenly. The Pressies battled well and contained the Ninjas, with Bailey, Mallet, Laura Temple and Lisa Baker all working hard to feed the ball up to the strike twins of Becky Kierman and Katie Ireland, however as the game settled the Ninjas had a little too much for them, with Robyn Gribble, Danny Sisson and Leanne Woodhead excelling this week. Gribble opened the scoring with a stunning strike and added an equally impressive second before half time. In the second half, Sam Carr and Adam Taylor worked well in defence but a couple of sublime Danny Sisson finishes and a poachers goal from Adam Sisson along with Gribble completing her hat trick made the final score 6-0. Which though reflecting some of the Ninjas quality play, was harsh on a well drilled battling Pressies team.
