Wisbech 1st Team 0 v Spalding 2nd Team 2

Spalding won what has probably been the best hockey match of the league so far. Starting strongly they never looked back and were the strongest team through the first half. Their superiority was rewarded when firstly Glen Perkins scored and then Annie Dalton scored the first flick of the League past the Wisbech Men's first team goalie Shep. Wisbech played some good hockey themselves with Sam Blunt and Lisa Williamson standing out but with Watts, Emma Dalton,  Rowbottom and Cunnington working well down the centre for Spalding, Price was rarely under pressure and coped with the attacks that made it through. The score remained 2-0 until the end but the quality of hockey was there for all to see.

The Sabres 0 v The Nerd Herd 0

The Nerds progress to the League Final after an entertaining match with the Sabres. Both teams worked to earn an early advantage but were frustrated by a mix of Woodwork, Goalkeeping and excellent defending. Ben Shore, Connor Allen, Gary Hales and Jeorgia Carr will wonder how they did not open the scoring in this game and with both teams playing fair committed hockey there was a lot of good things about tonight's game. Harry Thorpe and Laura Temple looked impressive for the Nerds, with the experienced Hales always willing to offer options. For the Sabres, Captain Shore, Lisa Baker and Louise Southgate drove the team on and it is fitting that this team has qualified for the 3rd place play off next week.
