MATCH REPORT

With 12 ladies today, we have traveled to my home town of Ely. The ladies were in good spirt after last week's win against St Neots. Ely started the game strong with a couple of great breaks they manage to break into our half and earned themselves a defensive short corner but luckily they didn't pull it off thanks an our great defence Julie,Sarah and Lexi.

Sutton composed themselves and soon they gathered pace to make a break after seven minutes into the game. Annabelle made a great pass into the goal area where Aimee was poised ready to strike it into the goal. 1 -0 to Sutton Ely had plenty of breaks and caught our defensive out which left Ellie to come out and attack the player which she did with confidence.

The game flowed with our midfield and up front players (Lillie,Katie, Penny and Alison)both teams fighting for the ball and after 11 minutes they managed to score their first goal 1-1. The defence were up against it which lead Ely scoring their second goal 2-1 but Sutton were quick to reply and with an quick run down from Annabelle she scored for Sutton making us even 2-2. This game could at this point be won by either side but with Emma,Penny and Kate working their socks off holding the players off and pushing the team up we managed to finish the first half 2-2.

Half time came which gave us the time to gather our thoughts and keep our composure we went again. We were a good match as both teams battled, the game went from end to end with a couple of defensive short corner along the way and a couple of attacking short corners which both team managed to keep out we battled on but not giving up at any point we had another break after 40 minutes Chantil being her calm self stuck it into the goal which put us into the lead 3-2.

As I am injured and unable to play I find it an honour and a privilege to watch you on the sidelines. Stay strong, keep what you're doing and we will go again next week.
