Sutton went into this top of the table clash with a young team and ultimately the experience of Leadenham showed in the final result.

Played on a pitch that whilst wet with standing water was not overly slippery, both sides started well, however it wasn't long before the continued penetration of the Sutton defence by Leadenhams forwards paid dividends and it was 2-0 at half time. Leadenham made it 3-0 early in the 2nd half, but Sutton's young team continued to fight back, with good work by Man of the Match Jamie Slator and Ed White. Eventually Sutton were awarded a penalty flick after an infringement at a short corner and Alex Canham put it away to reduce the arrears.

Unfortunately, this only drove Leadenham on further and whilst Sutton had other chances Leadenham ran in 4 more goals to cap a fine display from the league leaders.

Sutton's young team remain 2nd in the table and have the ideal oppurtunity to revive their spirits with a local derby at Spalding next week.
