Mens 1st XI vs Harleston Magpies 2

Magpies sent back across borders with damaged wings after Green Army snatch 3 points!

The boys managed back to back wins as they welcomed Magpies this week! They started very well and to the game plan with a well organised low block and press absorbing Magpie attacks and hitting them hard on the counter. One of these counters resulted in a PC for the home side from which JB converted to open the scoring. However, the experiences Magpies soon replied with an old school corner of their own managing to squeeze on under the logging Pig man! The fast counters were quickly becoming trouble for the away side though and in a short space of time conceded from two of them. Mac converted the first after good skill from JB and the two linked up again for the third, this time JB netting.

HT 3-1

Magpies began the second half wel but the game plan was being executed to a tee by the greens. Proctor, Jim, Donaghy and Dano all acting superbly across the back line! Foxy was screening oh so well with Sambo, JB and Mac providing midfield magic. Batten, Rag and Nel lit up the wide areas providing endless opportunities on the front foot for the home side whose counter attacks the travelling side could not handle

Magpies converted another old school PC but JB wanted to one up them with an old school wack himself. He rounded the runner, onto his reverse and cracked the ball into the bottom corner to extend the lead once more. Magpies’ threat was diminishing quickly and Sutton knew they were soon to be waking away with 3 points. The full time whistle blew and the lads had managed to grab 3 brilliant points

POTM was Foxy who commanded the screen area splendidly

DOTD was JB for adding two more cards to the collection. This time green!
