Long Sutton ladies 2’s set out for promotion at the beginning of the season.
The first game didn’t go to plan, however with a 5-0 loss but the twos were not to be disheartened and went on to win the next six games scoring 16 and conceding 2. Ellie Sandall ever impressive in goal behind a solid defence. Frustratingly only 2 development games were then played leading up to Christmas. A game against Kettering was postponed twice before Cambs City 7’s was also lost to the weather leading to a much longer than usual break. Although Sutton then faced another development team this was a welcome ease back into the season, despite suffering a loss.
Numbers have been excellent this season and a squad of 15 got back to winning ways against local rivals Pelicans. Another clean sheet and 3 goals bagged, Sutton were back, however only briefly as goals then dried up but Sutton continued to play outstanding hockey. Resolute in defence with a young midfield that played the ball around impressively the only bit missing was the finishing touch, although this was in part due to the opposition keepers being of a higher standard than that associated with Div 5 NW. 2 losses against Cambs City 7’s and Kettering looked to have ended Suttons promotion hopes, however whilst a complaint against Cambs City was not upheld the Kettering game was rightly awarded to Sutton and hopes were reignited. A tight win against Peterborough meant that a win in the final meaningful game would see the seasons aim sealed. But it was not to be although all was not lost. With St Neots losing to Cambs City 7’s in their penultimate game the ladies 2’s have secured promotion for the first time in their history. Aim well and truly accomplished.
A tremendous season and a reward fully deserved. The ladies 2’s have had 20 players to call on at times with Sophie Clarke and Lily Clarke making their debuts in the development game against Wisbech and every single player has contributed to this achievement.

With a change in captain and a shifting around of players, the 2024/25 season for the Mens 2s was one of transition.
Despite the occasional setback, the team as a whole has stuck together and fought hard against some very tough opposition, keeping spirits high throughout and true sense of what the club is about- togetherness and a veritable underdog feeling.
As any team should, we're looking to improve next season; bringing up younger players and seeking to finish higher on the table, all whilst maintaining our atmosphere of fun and inclusivity.

Top scorers were Hannah Baker with 22, Florence P with 5 and Amber Jones with 3! Lorraine Wallis totalled 7 clean sheets and Ellie S claimed 1 meaning the teams total amount of clean sheets was 8!
Player’s Player award went to Nat Frost and Captain’s player went to Hannah Baker
Thank you to Jack Buck Farms for sponsoring the team this year. Your support is greatly appreciated by the team and everyone at the club!
A great season overall for the 1s and they will take great spirits heading into the 25/26 season
This season, the M1s competed in Div1N after promotion from Div2NW last year. Captained by Luke Proctor, the boys set their target as remaining in the league come the end of the season.
After matchday 22, the lads were positioned 9th on 24 points which was just enough to keep them in Div1N for 25/26! An amazing achievement!
Highlights were a 4-2 win at home against a strong Magpies 2nd team and a 2-1 win against Norwich City 2s at home who finished 3rd in the league!
Top scorers were Joshua Baker with 28, Mckenzie East with 7 and Daniel Batten with 4!
Player’s player was Jimmy Harrison who had an outstanding season marshalling the back line!
Captain’s player was Dom Ibrahim who’s efforts to the team were of the highest order, playing all games whilst travelling the furthest out of any player by far!
Manager’s player was Stefan Fox who, like a prime Kante, worked 24/7 in front of the back line every single game this year!
Finally, thanks again to Craig Harrison who has taken some top quality photos of the lads throughout the season!
