Long Sutton started the promotion to a higher league with a gutsy team performance against a team relegated from the premier league.

Under pressure at times Sutton defended well, with great defensive work from player of the match Charlene Leuty. Sutton managed to keep Bury at bay until a scramble in the goal mouth resulted in the ball being lifted over the sticks of the defence and the keeper.

Sutton pressed hard for an equaliser with some great attacking runs from Jess Hudson. Hannah Greenacre and Leanne Woodhead putting Bury under pressure with some great passing moves before half time.

The second half was much the same as the first with great end to end battles, although Sutton were put under a lot of pressurewhen pressing up the pitch for their equaliser, unfortunately that was where the second goal came from a breakaway run which was passed around the Sutton defence and keeper.

Overall a pleasing team display.
