Long Sutton started the match putting pressure on Alford 2nd's immediately. The Mid-fielders Baker, Carr, Goodley and Maris worked hard to feed the Forwards Gadsden and Howell and aid the steady defence with Katie Maris marking her player out of the match frustrating Alford's forwards. Keeping the attacking play to a bare minimum the Sutton's strong defence and Mid field kept the ball moving until finally they were able to convert one of their short corners giving them a 1-0 lead at half time.

Sutton came out at half time just as strong as when they left off, carried on their pressure but frustratingly even having most of the play only Carr managed to penetrate the Alford defence. Giving Sutton the well deserved 2-0 win.
