Sutton started well against third in the league on Saturday although Havering had more possession. Sutton defended well as a team and were organised but couldn't prevent conceding a penalty flick. However keeper Loweth made a fine save to keep things level. Havering did break the deadlock from a short corner and took a 1-0 lead into half time as they weren't quite firing on all cylinders. Sutton came out in the second half more determined. Havering still had good possession but Sutton hounded them and put them under more pressure. Sutton were playing quicker, counter attacking hockey and deserved their fortuitous equaliser. Ellis flew down the wing and his sharp cross was turned into the goal by a Havering defender. Havering applied more pressure to Sutton but once again Sutton thwarted everything and created some good chances to take the lead. However, Sutton were denied a share of the spoils as Havering scored from a short corner which was awarded despite the striker being allowed to shoot. Sutton were devastated as they stuck together so well and worked tirelessly as a team and really deserved something against strong opposition. Crostyx will definitely meet a fired up Sutton next Saturday, 1pm Peele Leisure centre.
