Sutton were beaten well on Saturday by a classy Cambridge University side. Cambridge started at a ferocious pace, pressing Sutton all over the pitch giving them no time or space on the ball. Sutton made mistakes and couldn't handle the excellent movement and pace Cambridge had to offer. Cambridge opened the scoring and then quickly added a second. Sutton came into the game in the last 15 minutes of the first half, pressing Cambridge and creating a few chances of their own. Unfortunately Cambridge added a third before half time.

In the second half Sutton started a lot better and put Cambridge under some pressure, and were unlucky not to get a goal which their efforts deserved. As the game wore on the 15 man squad of Cambridge shone through, with fresh legs coming on to the pitch consistently and ground Sutton down, allowing Cambridge to score 4 more. Sutton worked hard and deserved at least a goal, but didn't have the man power Cambridge did to provide them with one.
