Sutton returned from London on Saturday with a valuable 3 points in this Prem B fixture. Sutton started well playing some lovely, fast, fluid hockey causing Crostyx all kinds of problems. The top 4 of Allen, Fyson, Sisson and Ellis hunting the ball down well putting Crostyx under a lot of pressure. Sutton deservedly opened the scoring as Sisson squared for Allen to expertly slot home. Sutton created many chances as they hit Crostyx on the attack again and again but couldn't convert. Fyson coming agonisingly close with a drag flick from a penalty corner which was cleared off the line. Crostyx equalised against the run of play but again excellent work from Sisson allowed him to pinch the ball and find Hales who rounded the keeper and smashed home. 2-1 halftime.

Crostyx came out all guns blazing in the second half and put Sutton under some pressure. Cliff was outstanding in the goal thwarting everything Crostyx launched at him. Sutton did create some chances on the counter but lacked the clinical touch of last week. Sutton then lost Taylor to the sin bin and it was all Crostyx for a 10 minute period. Sutton were organised and defended well and held on until Taylor returned allowing Sutton to see out the game and grab a vital victory which will help them in their hunt for survival.
