Lincolnshire's County Champions and highest ranked team got off to the perfect start in Prem B on Saturday.

Sutton started the brightest, playing some lovely attacking hockey but not quite finding the killer strike. Stortford surprisingly opened the scoring after a rare mistake, but Sutton kept at it as a unit and deserved their equaliser albeit coming from a Stortford defender. Enter man of the match Bailey who's tireless running and delicate skills gave Sutton that missing edge. Sutton deservedly took the lead as Fyson slotted a lovely short corner to Harrison who deflected it into the net. This left the score at half-time 2-1.

Sutton continued to dominate in the second half with some wonderful team hockey lead by the determined Bailey and soon got their rewards. Fyson fired in a double followed by Cook and Sisson both getting on the score sheet as well.. Stortford got one back but it was mere consolation, as Sutton successfully closed out the game to finish as comfortable winners. Sutton will take a lot of positives into next Saturday from a solid team performance.
