Long Sutton failed to find their top gear of past games in this prem b fixture on Saturday. Waltham started well and opened the scoring with a lovely deflected goal. Sutton came into the game and created some chances but the Waltham keeper was in fine form and thwarted Sutton's efforts. Sutton managed to equalise through good work from Sisson. 1-1 HT. The second half saw Sutton play better hockey but Waltham got 11 players behind the ball and defended well as a unit. Sutton found it hard to find space and then undeservedly went behind. The reliant Harrison missed a penalty stroke as he sent the keeper the wrong way but agonisingly found the post. Waltham scored a third and although Sutton pressed and created some chances they lacked quality finishing and couldn't convert.
