This week Sutton men's 2s hosted Peterborough 4th, currently top of the league having got relegated last season and only having one defeat so far in nine games, the odds were stacked against the Green Army with the two teams having played three leagues apart last season. Sutton started strongly and the game was end to end for the first ten minutes, looking like Sutton could hold their own against a well drilled and well organised Peterborough squad, but it was only a matter of time before Peterborough broke the deadlock taking advantage of some self inflicted errors from Sutton, a further two mistakes were capitalised on by a clinical in front of goal Peterborough team, something Sutton were lacking in the oppositions 'D' Keeper Cliff and the defense playing well for the home side keeping the score to 3-0 to the guests at half time.

Sutton came out with more intent and purpose in the second half, but as with the first half couldn't seem to find the back of the net however neither could Peterborough, short corners were a plenty for Sutton and finally Watt drilled a trademark ball to the post where freshly returning to Sutton and man of the match, Andy Shore sweetly slotted a deflection into the 'boro goal. The final goal for 'boro came from a ball drilled into the 'D' at pace that skipper Holmes barely touched unfortunately changing the direction of the ball into his own goal. 4-1 to the visitors at the final whistle. Lots of positives to be taken the performance against a far more experienced team with a good team effort to the final whistle.
