In what was an ultimately forgettable game, Champions elect March underlined their superiority in this 2NW fixture.

Sutton battled well and never lost their spirit, however on the day March just had too many questions for Sutton to answer; indeed without battling performances from Cliff in goal and Fox in central defence it could have easily been more.

Sutton had few chances and those that came were not taken or were repelled by a strong March defence.

With the score only 2-0 at half time there was hope that Sutton could get back into the game, however the combination of a well drilled March team and tired Sutton legs gave the final score a very emphatic look. There is no shame for this Sutton side who newly promoted have more than held their own in this higher division and on the day came up against a team who were playing 3 divisions higher than them last season.
