Long Sutton thirds young side continued their recent run of impressive form with a 5-2 win over Alford, built on an excellent team unit rather than individual performances.

Both teams started well and after chances both ends it was Alford who opened the scoring. Sutton fought back and levelled through a fine individual effort from Ed White, Sutton then took the lead before half time as Alex Canham added a second after fine work from White and Jack Smith.

Sutton began to control the game in the second half with Jamie Slator, Matt King and Nick Worth again putting in excellent performances and it was no surprise when Smith fed Canham for his 2nd to make it 3-1. Spirited Alford never gave up and reduced the deficit with 10 minutes to go, before Player of the Match Canham completed his hat trick from a short corner before the equally impressive White finished the scoring with his second of the game. This excellent all round team performance from Sutton keeps Sutton in 2nd place.
