The honours ended even in this closely contested local derby. Both sides played some good hockey and an enjoyable end to end game was enjoyed by those watching resulting in a draw, which over the course of the game was a fair result.

Sutton opened the scoring in the first half from a short corner struck by Steve Hart and although the score was only 1-0 at half time both teams had plenty of chances to score more. Josh Thody in the Sutton Goal was once again inspirational, well supported by Smith and Simpson in defence. Up front, Sutton were always a threat with the intelligent play of Baker, Clarke and Sullivan along with tireless running from the 'keen to impress his girlfriend' Sisson and Man of the Match Harry Thorpe.

The second half was played in the same vein as the first and whilst both sides could have scored more goals, there was only one further goal scored; an well taken equaliser for Spalding from Steve Rodgers.
