Long Sutton defended well in the first half and held their own against a challenging Newmarket forward line and a strong midfield to be 0-0 at half time, with both David and Ben Maris putting in some sterling work, alongside the engine house, Simon Clarke, who never stopped running all game. James Baker then opened the scoring for Long Sutton in the second half with a reverse stick shot that left his stick like an exocet missile minus the burner! It clearly fooled the Newmarket keeper who kicked at it two minutes before it got to him! This was enough to spur Newmarket into action and they clearly dominated from then in, scoring three goals, despite some outstanding goalkeeping from man of the match Luke Lovegrove, who saved Sutton from further embarrassment.
