The fourths travelled to Skegness to play Alford with a much-changed team and came away with a deserved point. A reshuffled forward line meant a debut for Dan Oldfield and he responded well. It was his persistence that created a goalscoring chance for top marksman Adam Sisson, who scrambled the ball over the line.

The second half saw Alford make a key substitution and it showed the difference that one player of quality can make. It became a rearguard action for Sutton's tired legs. Sutton's defensive organisation was hampered by a calf injury to sweeper Simon Wakeham, who played 90% of the game on one leg. The hosts finally scored, despite the best efforts of Calvin Bishop and Joss Calderbank in defence, and another good performance from ‘keeper Josh Thody. Finally though, in a match with relatively few chances, a draw was fair to both sides.
