MATCH REPORT
LSHC Mixed v Moulton Pool
Played Home on 18th June 2013Wisbech 2nd team 4 - The Ninjas 0
The inaugural match of the League saw a rusty Ninja team beaten by a well drilled and skilful Wisbech side. A slow start from the Sutton team resulted in them conceding a goal very early in the game and although they tried to pick the game up it was no surprise that the half ended 2-0 to Wisbech. The second half started better for Sutton but Wisbech capitalised on a defensive mistake to make it 3-0 and then scored a fourth before the end of the game to seal the first points of the league. The Ninjas will play better than this, but stand out performances for the team were Jeorgia Carr and Lachan Read.
Spalding 1st team 2 - Petes Presidential Picks 4
These well matched teams played out a good spirited game which ended in a 4-2 win for the Pressies . Spalding twice took the lead but were pegged back by strikes from Katie Ireland and Adam Wiles, Ireland then gave the Pressies the lead with a fantastic deflected finish before Becky Kierman finished with style to give the score a more comfortable look. Both teams played good hockey in a match played in a great atmosphere, with some excellent performances on both sides. The Pressies mix of players worked well together with players like Jason Mallet, Nick Bailey and Sutton and Spalding Old-Boy Jacob Read working hard for the team.
