Another tough day for the ladies 2’s. Having travelled to Cambridge, looking splendid in their away Kit Sponsored by Taylor’s Bulbs and W.A.G.I Dog Products, Sutton were hopeful of coming away with some points. However from the off it was clear to see that this was a Cambridge side much stronger than their previous results would suggest. Sutton found themselves pushed back from the off. Clarke in goal was working hard, showing a maturity beyond her years with Warby, Skate and Clarke putting in stern work to keep the waves of attack at bay. Despite their best efforts Cambs South took an early lead. Sutton never let their heads drop though and with Grosvenor covering every blade of the astro Whittaker Tegerdine and Perowne began to gain a little control of the midfield, spraying passes through to Giles, Whittaker(A) and Clarke (L). Unfortunately Giles was just not quite able to fashion a clear cut chance.
Canham seemlessly slotting in for Clarke Sutton were able to keep their energy high but found themselves 2 down before half time
Sutton continued to push and with Clarke (L) having her best game in a Sutton shirt so far they were able to win short corners, which were well executed but would just not drop kindly to allow them to reduce the deficit
A third goal followed for Cambs in controversial fashion and the game ended in defeat There are so many positives for this team though tasting the higher league for the first time in their history with improvement through the team week on week Their rewards for their endeavour surely just around the corner
POTM was shared by 2 of the 3 Clarkes in the team, Lexi and Lily, both putting in super performances Lily Clarke taking the casting vote for her best performance so far
